Daily Watercooler - 9th October
Hello folks,
Back to Monday. Hope y'all have had a nice weekend. Hoping to be more productive this week than I was in the last one 😀
What this post is: a place to hang around and chat just about anything, without having a specific topic to discuss. Think of it like the watercooler at your office.
Look forward to hearing from you all :)

What’s really going with the job scene? There’s a surge in postings but absolutely no calls at all..

I think there's just still too much supply, in comparison to the demand I imagine they're being more picky, and most roles are getting wrapped up quickly That's my hypothesis

I hear that for most job postings they are getting like 500+ responses in only a few hours.

I am fed up of seeing freshers getting bloated salaries, not sure what they are bringing to the table for the company.
I feel market is skewed due to this. Not sure

They are bringing DSA to the table, by the Ashirwaad of a bunch of didi/bhaiyas

At this point I don't even blame them, companies are to be blamed. Following things blindly and thinking that's the best approach to hire. Maybe they should start hiring PhDs in computer science then, most of them will be writing crud and apis still.
Just ranting btw.
With these kind of thing happening the market will never be corrected.

People who work from home, wht are you doing apart from work? I hit the gym in morning which is great and then sit all day for work with 1-2 peer interactions that too off work.
PS: I have no friends in my hometown

Trying different sports off late - just something to ensure physical movement in a day. On to skating these days.

Are 30s better than 20s? I feel I wasted most of my 20s due to laziness, lethargy, being in comfort zone and I feel I’ve royally fucked my life due to all these reasons. I’m 29 and I feel I’m done for life.

You will have meteoric rise and it feel better when it’s late. Of course you won’t become hard working overnight but the guilt will never let you settle and you would be willing to take risk to compensate lost time, risk can be bravely switching jobs without thinking of stability/WLB or switching career track altogether,
Catching one rising wave will be enough to wipe out all and you will reach heights my friend!!!
