Anyone working with CPP? Have started out recently albeit late, in medical imaging. Not sure how should I go about my career trajectory.

I've been told that embedded pays well for good CPP developers but I have zilch knowledge about hacking hardware.

Shed some light fellow CPP people.

CPP is used for low latency high performance systems.

If you are going to be pursuing a highly specialised career with a PhD as a terminal degree, then it is the place to be.

If you plan to be employable with a Bachelors degree then, stay on something like Rust, GoLang, Julia etc.

I'm not well into this area, but from what I have seen: Embedded work is demanding and exciting but it doesn't pay as much due to many reasons

Internet software tech makes the most money today. This only has an indirect impact on hardware/semiconductor business.
Stiff competition from China. Those folks are insanely hardworking, and fairly cheap.
