Corporate bonds : Risk analysis

Has anyone here invested in corporate bonds from the apps like wintwealth and stable money?

Is investing in AA bond better than investing in a FD? Any cool tricks to maximise the returns from these bonds ?

I've been using wintwealth and jiraaf since about a year. Have gradually invested a heavy sum and get an avg monthly income of about 25k. No defaults as of now but I understand it's a bit more risky than fds etc. So I try to diversify and not keep very long maturity periods; I usually try to invest in a rated bonds. I've About 15 different schemes as of now and keep on adding a few every quarter.

How easy is it to get back your principal incase we don’t want to continue? Any penalty? @Piderman

@PerfectLantern I've not had a need to do that but they say you can reach out to the team and they will try to find a buyer. But it will be an adhoc process so not really very easy.

👋🏻 to a fellow co-worker. I have been investing in these since about 6 months now. I have not yet seen cases of defaults. You can choose to get monthly interests, helps to pay some utility bills. The interests are slightly better than FD but it still carries a risk of default.

I too have invested a lot in Bonds and SDIs, they helped me generate a Passive Income.

I've been investing in corporate bonds via WintWealth for almost 2 years now. Started with a very small amount, the payments were timely and it was good to see money hitting my bank account every month. So since I decided to make it my passive income after a year & invested more. As of today, 2 bonds got completely matured & I still have 4 more going on.

  1. I selected the bonds in a way that one bond matures every 4-5 months
  2. Don't put all your money here, diversification is important!
  3. No tricks to maximize the returns. They already select bonds with XIRR around 11%
  4. These are riskier than FD of course but better returns. You've to make that decision based on your risk appetite

Have been investing in these bonds with Wint Wealth for few years. Have received money on time. They have launched liquidity feature as well which helps sell bonds during any liquidity needs

Oh. Any penalty for withdrawal before maturity? Have you tried it?

I usually go for bigger NBFCs with shorter bond duration. Bonds with ~11% returns can beat equity market returns in the next 1-1.5 years

Invest in govt bonds not in private ones . If you want to just park your amount just for the future with less return then govt bonds are best . But if you want to invest a good amount for a certain period with a good monthly return FD will do . But there is risk of repo rate being cut down due to recent trade wars in the world

Secured NCD only. Bought in IPO, planning to hold till maturity. Returns are good.

How to invest in corporate bonds?

There are platforms like wint wealth and golden pi but they seem shady to me. Is there any other to invest in bonds other than these platforms? Is it possible to buy directly from company websites?
