Hey !!! My take on this is , there needs to be some kind of backend mechanism to ensure that gender ratio is maintained here along with few steps like :
For iOS only users
- Device binding to make sure people arent fake signing up.
- Quality of Profile.
- Right pricing - If app addressed at 18 - 33 year olds. INR 3K per annum might be good.
- Waitlist mechanism to rebalance until enough opposite gender profiles are filled.
- Lastly, some in person marketing events at Posh Localities, Colleges where this dating culture is very good and lastly innovatively breaking stigmas of dating .

Initially it sounded like a joke, but it can actually work to manage the current problem of gender ratio on other dating apps.
If possible add a CIBIL score entry criteria (like CRED did initially) for males - This would feed the ego of both males (alpha mindset) and females (looking for a knight in the shining armour)
To counter fake profiles (an actual menace), have KYC Aadhar verification - it may sound like a friction while signing up but pitch it as a safety measure - this would attract female users (and eventually males)

Ios only app could find traction with women as its a great filter. Look at how Clubhouse was hyped up before it launched an android. Hyped in India too.
Bad idea. Every friendship nd social app have become dating app. U don't need a separate dating app.
Dude chill. Filpkart nd Amazon. Smae thing. It is the users who get to decide. Dating app "Made for class" could be a big differentiator. Btw, let them put a profile section to showcase their lifestyle by linking photos from IG. Don't limit it there. Make it invite based/ or premium prices, to even limit people and make exclusives as per demand.
