Being in this sandwich generation is the worst

May I ask a suggestions my mom 63 years has been suffering from depression from 2 years . It was so bad that she had to be admitted twice . But she is not getting better , Not even trying . She is completely dependent on others to cook and feed and also give medication . She does not even try to do anything Dad passed away long time back , I am married have a 7 yr old son Mom has been alternatively staying with my Oder sister and me . We both are scarifying the time with our family and taking care of her . My husband has started getting irritated now as house has turned depressing. I am not sure what to do , I am thinking about finding an assisted living facility for her whee they can take care of her . Any suggestions

When you were a baby, and you couldn’t do anything, she cooked for you & fed you, and changed you, and gave you medication for years.

She should have put you into an assisted living facility, like an orphanage, at that time.

That’s all I want to say.

Same this is what I wanted to say as well. People are getting ignorant and stupid day by day I feel.

This is your real life test and you need to pass this. You need to balance it out between your mother and husband. You should not leave your mother especially at this time to someone else, thinking about this is a crime. Bring some one who can take care of your mother in your house. If you will keep her away from you she will become more depressed. Take care of her you will be blessed in some or the other way trust God.

Old age is depressing, can't help it unfortunately. Maybe hiring a house help/assistant would help. But it's a testing phase for sure, requires a lot of patience and strength to care for someone in their old age.
