These are all band aid measures,
The only thing the motivates a person is the hope that he /she will be rewarded appropriately and a decent WLB. When a person belives the job is a dead end, nothing will motivate. Depending on responsibilites the person moves around like a zombie.
Many times when i go home, am always tensed about a meeting the next day, When i see a layoff in the company , i feel scared what if am next? i end up overcompensating that fear by working more or atleast pretending more. Its a never ending cycle, that cannot be solved by arriving early to office.
