Why not have a realistic goal and retire early? Say 2-10Cr? You can do 50Cr by retiring at 60Cr and probably 15y earlier at 45 if you aim for 5Cr.

Thanks for overwhelming response. I have got close to 100 votes and looks like majority wish to retire between 40 to 50. Wondering is it because they are feeling exhausted or got their target retirement fund secured.

Continue working as long as you can, caveat is to find the work you like, which gives you energy rather than draining your energy, where you can deliver impact.
A retired man is likely to succumb to depression, I know i would for sure.

Do people in IT are allowed to work post 45? When I look around all companies I joined I don't see anyone post 45 unless they are VP

That's not globally true but I can understand if you are referring the scenario in Indian context.
At Intel people have completed 30years and more of service at Intel as developer. 25years is very common.

From a corporate job i would say you should be able to retire by the age of 45. And continue to live with passive income. If needed you can open a shop and run it after the age of 45 if you really need to work.
