TLDR: going to buy policy from Ditto, want to hear about some personal experiences from folks who have already bought and settled a claim!
So, I'm looking to purchase a health insurance policy for my family and have repeatedly come across Ditto. They have been very nice to talk to and provided a lot of info over multiple discussions. However, everybody is nice when they're trying to sell you things...
Also, I find their business model a bit weird in context to their claim of providing "unbiased advice and service". I was told from Ditto that they don't charge any commission from the consumer, but are instead paid by the companies themselves. If that's the case, won't they be likely to push for the company that's paying them the highest commission?
Because of this, I'm sceptical about their service when it comes to claim settlement procedure. If the Insurance agency causes unnecessary blockades, does Ditto help in resolving the issue ?
In the past, our health insurance was bought from an known family friend who was a certified agent, hence by default he had some sense of responsibility towards us. But Ditto is just a company... The relationship manager they'll assign will be a stranger obviously.
So, what I really want to know is how much do they hold up on their end of the bargain, when it comes to claim settlement!
