It's suffocating
Being in Software right now feels really claustrophobic. On one side there is a constant fear of layoffs. On the other side there is AI that keeps getting better every day. Whatever space is remaining is taken up by people at the workplace who are constantly trying to one-up you (and successfully doing it). Finally there is life in general ( health, family, traffic etc.) How are people finding the motivation or energy to keep working and getting better?
So what's the big deal if they are layoffs?
You are such an intelligent person who has made it to Adobe and has adobe in his resume you will get hired easily with a hike.
Ai is coming for jobs? Yes it might be but you can master it as a tool and it will create more jobs and opportunities than you can think of. It's like you got access to a supercomputer to increase human potential and capabilities. This fear you have is not new during the arrival of the internet, computer, typewriter, cars, telephone
The same thing happened the market got disrupted and new jobs were created.
Stop being a pessimist and start thinking beyond survival mode.

Take a break,
Explore MBA,
Explore Government Jobs,
Explore other career options,
explore non tech jobs,
explore business,
think of a startup.
Follow ups Passion, hobbies.
Life is too short to waste on things you don't like. Do what your mind, brain, body feels like doing. Take your bets, take up alternatives when you have a chance.
Money is needed to start a business
I've been working from home for the past two years, and while everything looks good on paper, I feel really isolated from society, with no real friends. Now I'm constantly worried about losing my job, and to top it off, I made some financial mistakes that have really brought me down.
I am trying to switch , but it is so damn hard, I dont have any energy left to give interviews. Even if you make one mistakes you are rejected. The job market is so tough and my current manager is micromanaging , I am not getting the motivation to do anything, just lie down and look at the roof
If you are young, change your career.
Otherwise slowly start building a second income through other means, so that one day you can leave the software field entirely.
Disruption is only going to increase in the software field in the coming days. Scientists are already talking of singularity by 2045 and of reaching AGI in 5 to 10 years. So AI systems are only going to get better, not going to stabilize

Depends on the tipe of person you are man.
You may even find it exciting . I am at a stage where its getting difficult.

So true. The software job life has become so bloody inconsistent. Offer letter milte hi layoff ki tension start. Are we reaching saturation point for software job lifecycle in coming 10 years? After which only a handful of Manual intervention will exist. Plan B to Plan Z chahiye ab
Life is like a stock market, ups and downs are bound to happen.
Its becoming easy to differentiate if you truly love your job or you’re made for something else.
With boom in software development last few years everyone(smart enough) have fallen back on comfortable(high paying) jobs despite their true interest. Majority of them are feeling the same way. Rest 5-10% are loving the anticipation of how things will unfold in software development, as they don’t completely tangle this evolution job security, work life balance etc.
