Gender Discrimination in Hiring My Personal Experience at Reliance Smart Mart
I am sharing this experience professionally and respectfully with the hope that it creates awareness and encourage change. Last month, I visited Reliance Smart Mart MIDC Nagpur to inquiry about a sales position I arrived prepared with my resume and a genuine interest in contributing to their team Before I could meet anyone from the hiring team or present my qualifications a person standing at the entrance informed me that we don't take females here I was giving no opportunity to share my resume discuss my experience or demonstrate my sales capability. I want to highlight that Reliance Retails official Equal Opportunity Policy clearly states that all positions are open to candidates based on merit regardless of gender gender discrimination In hiring is also violation of Indian labor law What I experienced appears to be a serious disconnect between corporate policy and ground level implementation I am not sharing this out of angry I am sharing this because every woman deserve a fair chance to be heard and evaluated on her merit.
