Productivity ≠ Understanding.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how our industry is evolving — and honestly, it’s a strange place to be in. We’re living in a time where companies expect every role to rely on a stack of “latest” tools that promise rapid results, yet no one stops to ask whether those results are deeply understood or even meaningful in the long-term. Productivity has become a metric, not a mindset. What worries me is this: Tools are starting to replace thinking, not just tasks. Yes, AI helps remove redundant work — and I’m all for that. But when decisions are made without context, oversight, or systems thinking, the consequences ripple across the entire product or service. You get fast output, but you lose clarity, nuance, and direction. And on top of that, workers today end up paying for many of these tools personally — tools we’re pressured to use just to keep up. We spend our own hard-earned money to produce work faster, but the value of that work gets credited to “tool efficiency,” not human expertise. Somewhere along the way, we started optimizing speed instead of understanding. “Ship fast” became more important than “think deeply.” And that’s a loss — not just for workers, but for the product itself. I still believe that vision, critical thinking, and craftsmanship matter more today than ever. Tools should amplify our thinking, not replace it. And tools should make us more human, not more rushed. Just sharing this because a lot of us feel this shift but rarely talk about it. Curious to hear how others are navigating this tool-heavy, AI-driven era — especially while trying to maintain a thoughtful, long-term approach to building meaningful work.

Self acceptance through romantic love

Romantic relations let you feel a level of intimacy which you can't from platonic relations. The intimacy that I am talking about is not the physical one; rather it is the bond that you share with your partner. They don't bat an eye on your imperfections, be it physical or mental. They look at you as if you are the most beautiful person they have ever laid their eyes on. You can see the love for you in their eyes, they sparkle with happiness because they are with you. They cherish every bit of you and thank the heavens that they found you. They kiss away your fears and scars with their words, and their actions amplify the effect. Through all this they slowly heal parts of you that used to break you. They help you see that you are a beautiful person despite the imperfections that you may have and their love helps you believe it. You start accepting those scars of yourself, even the pronounced ones. You begin to bloom, your light shining brighter than ever. And then the magic happens, you start falling in love with yourself.

Is anyone hiring for SDE intern/FTE (mostly backend or full stack)

About me - I'm Vivek Chavan, I'm currently in my final year doing computer science. I'm a Generalist engineer with keen interest in backend engineering & cloud native technologies, I specialize in building full stack applications (development to prod), also have built APIs , I've previously worked as a freelance dev for a Columbian based company in which I worked directly with 2 clients 1. For the first client I had to migrate a nodejs backend to Golang and setup CI/CD workflows which was deployed on AWS 2. For the second client I did build a full fledged Ecom like application using MERN stack and deployed it on hostinger Technologies I've worked with include: FE : React/Next BE : Nodejs, Golang DB : Have worked with both relational DB (MySQL and postgresql) and non relational database (MongoDB) Cloud : AWS (Have worked with services like EC2, S3 Bucket, cloudfront, amplify,ECS) But I'm flexible with stacks as I'm good with fundamentals, shoot me a dm if you are hiring or know anyone whose hiring,I'm in urgent need of a job (maybe I'm not experienced alot but I'm looking for exposure), I'm open to both internships or FTE can relocate
