Maybe we should just rename "Talent Acquisition" to "Talent Accusation"
Why? Because that's exactly what most of us are doing. We accuse talent of not being good enough We accuse them of not being "culture fit" We accuse them of lacking loyalty while offering laughable salaries. We accuse them of being "lazy" or "job-hoppers" in a system designed to burn them out We got super good pretending we are some enlightened department connecting talent to opportunity, making candidates feel "valued" In my world, a majority of my kind are treating people like transactions. It’s rinse-and-repeat BS of 5 rounds of interviews (cause oh! we are so strict in our screening) and then automated rejection emails. "Acquiring" Talent... TOTAL BS. What we are really doing is running them through hoops, accusing them of not measuring up, and then wondering why we can't attract top talent. Honestly - top-down, north-south, sideways, diagonally - we don’t even know what we're acquiring half the time. Most don't have a clear picture of what success looks like in the roles they're hiring for. So yeah... Call it "Talent Accusation" until you actually deserve the title of Talent Acquisition. Until then, quit acting like you have got this sh*t figured out. Because clearly, we don't. Thoughts?
At the rate AI is evolving, I just want it to grow arms and legs.
So it can stand up and walk out from the browser window… and slap a few people. Just enough to reset their RAM, reinstall their brain, force quit their delusions, run a cleanup script on their thought process, revoke read/write access to their inner monologue, downgrade their self-perception to "AI enabled"... a full five-finger, silicon-fused open-palm diagonal slap - starting at the left ear, cutting across the cheekbone like a spreadsheet formula gone wrong, and exiting just below the right eye - with enough velocity to buffer their self-worth in 4K with context, with empathy and with deep neural regret. Saw someone writing "Can you turn this negative Glassdoor review into a strength?" Goes to prove.. If you hand a baboon a pizza, he'll use it as a face mask - and still make better use of AI and prompting.
