Exponent's Weekly Update
Launched the fantasy app last week and got some amazing feedback and love from GV and HN. Thanks for checking out the app and signing up! You guys even subscribed to the first creator IPO (would appreciate any feedback on your experience). We're making great progress on the IPO subscription. 😤 The IPO closes on 26th, stocks will be allotted and will then move to the Exponent stock market. Meanwhile I'm thinking of creating another fantasy creator IPO. Since I got the most activity from GV, why not get some suggestions from you guys! Criteria: 1. Creator should have a good follower base (ideally more than 500k subs/followers) 2. Creator should have some business sense (not random funny/prank video creators or chapri tiktoker types) I'll research them and launch a digital IPO. Suggest your favourite creators or upvote the reply which has the creator. I also made a few changes to make the IPO tab more prominent (based on feedback users were not able to find the IPO tab). Check out the app and let me know if you have any questions/feedback. I'll be putting up a product demo here and the website (exponent.club) and launching on PH in the upcoming week. Please support! Cheers! ♥️
Groww down. Any insider info on what caused it?
See a lot of great RCAs in HN, hoping to see it from Groww also. Also, can any insider give us some live info?
Gmail Dot Policy Causing Risky Miscommunication
Hi Google Team, I’d like to flag an issue with Gmail’s dot-handling policy that’s leading to serious miscommunication, particularly in sectors like banking and financial services. Gmail allows dots in usernames during account creation (e.g., john.doe@gmail.com), but treats all dot variations (johndoe@gmail.com, jo.hn.doe@gmail.com) as the same inbox. This design, while convenient, can cause: • Sensitive emails (e.g., financial statements, loan docs) to be sent to the wrong person, • Privacy breaches and potential regulatory risks, • Identity theft or fraud due to misdirected information. Critically, Outlook addresses do not have this issue, as dots are treated as distinct — making them more reliable in high-trust environments. Request: Please consider revising this policy or implementing warnings during account setup or email entry to help prevent these risks. Thanks for your ongoing work on Gmail. We hope this important issue can be addressed soon. Best wishes Kasim
