Which one to join

Hey folks, I've received a bunch of offers, shortlisted these 2 companies and have to decide one by tomorrow. The US public company has good TC and hopefully good work. Stability is WLB is high. The AI company: Pros: Has a ton of super interesting projects and my profile aligns well with it. The discussions with senior management went well. Cons: Not sure, sounds too good, hence kinda sceptical. Risks: Funding is fine but the situation can turn any day. Their new major product is due to be released next Q. They are expecting a lot of new enterprise customers to onboard and have commitments from existing ones. The compensation difference isn't a lot honestly, so shouldn't be a major decision point.

K shaped salary growth in IT

While indian big 5 IT companies are postponing the hikes or laying off the employees, Meta is being being accused of hiring ppl with expertise in AI at whopping $100M joining bonus(around Rs800cr joining bonus) Till almost 1 decade ago, IT was ticket to a stable middle class life. You start with atleast 3L/annum. Eventually getting promoted & Over the period of time not much difference between salaries. But seems that, it is changing fast. If you are top 0.1% of the industry, you can command Rs.800cr. if you are 1% you can switch easily & can ask 2-3X hike. if you are top 10% you can still switch but can expect 30-40% hikes. Rest 90% of IT ppl with average skills will end up struggling with mere 5% salary hikes, late promotions & struggling to manage budgets every month. IT is no longer ticket to stable life & money is not guaranteed unless you are top 10%.

Avoid Newly Founded Startups at all cost

So there's this AI startup I interned at, founded in 2024. My internship was of 3 months initially, then they would decide for PPO. Claiming some HR issues, they extended the internship for another month. The stipend was very low. And it was a WFH internship. Then when they gave the PPO at the end, I rejected the offer, as it gave 50% variable pay, and had another offer from MNC, they called my behavior "unprofessional" and even didn't reply to my mails about relieving docs.
