Place and Route Design Automation Engineer

Altera is seeking a Design Automation Engineer to join their Design Methodology and Automation team in Hyderabad. The role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting P&R tools and methodologies to optimize FPGA silicon design. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve design flow quality, runtime efficiency, and infrastructure robustness. Applicants are expected to have a strong background in P&R, scripting, and EDA tool utilization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor design or design automation
• 3+ years hands-on experience in P&R or physical design
• Strong coding experience in Tcl, Perl, and Python
• Applied knowledge of P&R algorithms and design flows
• Experience with industry-standard EDA tools like Synopsys or Cadence
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
