Beware of Body shopping companies
I wanted to share my recent experience while interviewing through a body-shopping company (Teamware solution ). I applied for a GCP Cloud role for a KPMG client. The vendor handled the entire process. What surprised me: They asked for all documents (Aadhaar, PAN, pay slips, education, HR letters) even before releasing the offer letter. They insisted on filling the client onboarding portal before salary negotiation or joining discussions. When the offer letter finally came, the joining date they forced was much earlier than my actual notice period. I politely informed them that I received a better opportunity (AI based company ), and I wouldn’t be joining. When I was having discussion with kpmg project regarding my concern "i casually told AI company's offer letter gives more weightage then teamware in my resume ' and that guy said the same thing to teamware HR. She was triggered by this word, she was acting like rabid. After this, their HR became unprofessional, saying things like: “You wasted our time.” “We’re marking you as no-show.” “You will never grow in life.” “We have client escalation because of you.” This was shocking because I have rejected offers before, and no company has behaved like this. I’m posting this anonymously to understand: Is this normal behaviour for body-shopping / contract staffing firms? Has anyone else faced similar situations? Any red flags to watch out for in future vendor-driven hiring? Are direct-payroll roles safer for avoiding such experiences? While discussing i noticed KPMG now has most toxic people inside in their company? Big 4 companies toxic work culture problem. Would appreciate hearing others’ views so it helps people who might face similar situations.
