Salary structure for expat assignments in MNCs
I'm curious about the salary structures that MNCs follow or Expat assignments given to employees hired in India that excel and get a chance to work in offices outside of India. There's very little clarity on how specifics are determined, at least that's the case in our company. If possible, try to cover these aspects in your answer: 1) Duration of these expat assignments: Is it few months/few years/permanent? 2) Salary of India office: If the expat assignment is temporary, is it the norm that over and above your expat salary, you'll continue receiving your India salary tax free? 3) Once the expat assignment is completed, are you expected to come back to India office and give KT to others, or you'll continue doing more expat assignments? 4) What perks/allowances do you generally get as a part of the expat assignment, which you did not get in the India office? Please mention any other relevant aspects or weird incidents that you might have encountered first hand or of someone else going on an Expat assignment.
Should I leave the team or company
It's been 4 months since I am at amazon I saw more than 7 people leaving the team and in my team they don't give proper KT nor guidance and expect to reach the estimates timeline. I know still more people are trying to jump to another team or company because of this kind of environment. And one of my colleague who joined recently did some blunder mistake in prod and they literally created a big scene in front of everyone. Obviously it's not correct to give the tasks directly without any proper KT. If we ask for KT they say we don't have go sage or search in broadcast bla bla... I'm literally fed up should I leave the company or shall I change the team?? What other team is also the same??
Pettiest thing you've done during notice period?
I'm currently in my second month of notice and the management here is still expecting me to take ownership of new features. Like bhai I am literally counting days till my exit, why would I care about your Q3 deliverables. My manager was a massive micromanager before I put down my papers. Now whenever cross functional teams ping me for urgent fixes or KT, I wait exactly half a day to reply and just drop a "Please loop in my manager as he will drive this going forward". I also silently unshared the workspace for some custom scripts I wrote that automated half our weekly reporting. If they want to treat people like cheap labor they can figure out the manual work from scratch. I know it's a bit evil but it feels amazing to watch them scramble over things they took for granted for years. Ngl I'm enjoying this phase way too much. Curious to know what kind of petty stuff you guys have pulled off before leaving an org?
