Layoffs at Zypp Electric
Zypp electric getting fucked. 80+ TLs fired, along with 2 city heads. AGM and above made individual contributors. Appraisals first delayed to February and then cancelled. Live vehicles gone down from 9000+ to fewer than 6000. Share taken by Baaz and Tribe. The founder Aakash Gupta is busy doing podcast, Kash se Aakash and posting on LinkedIn about business ideas 😔
Setting realistic deadlines for your team
I recently got promoted to Team Lead, worked my ass off to get here! As an individual contributor, I’ve always completed tasks quickly. If something takes other people 4-5 days, I’d finish it out in 1-2. Naturally, this set an unexpected standard, but I know that’s not how it works for everyone in a team. And I don't want to be that asshole who thinks if I can then everyone can. I want my team to have the freedom to set their own timelines while ensuring they’re growing and delivering at their best. For all the TLs and managers out there...how do you keep the balance between setting realistic deadlines without compromising productivity or product quality? Would love to hear your approach!
DevOps SAP interview experience
I was too disappointed by this interview, they asked anything & everything. At the end, i know ill be working on either one aspect of DevOps, but SAP ppl went next level. They asked me in depth of IaC, monitoring ( inside set ups, tracing & all), codes including boto3, ansible, aws complete, java app deployment & all aspects of it, jenkins both syntax & declarative pipelines. Linux (i am good in linux), k8s almost everything on low level, TLS & SSL stuffs. I just don’t understand y they expect one person to be expert in everything. Isn’t this too much for one person? At the end, ill be either working on TF, scripting, cicd or something else. But none of the companies i have worked in all tools at once. Sometimes i wish i was just into dev🤦🏻♀️
