what is a sde2/3 now???
I just joined a pbc last week as an sde1. This week saw one girl joining as sde2 in my team. I have 1.5 yoe as fte she has 1.2 yoe with 1 yr of internship experience. While internship exp was discarded in my case but even including that you need 3yoe for sde2 in my org. Have I been handled a bad deal from the hr? I was laidoff before so ig yes. Anyways, i also saw recently a girl joining google sde3 on twitter. When she is a 23 btech passout. How is that possible? you need good yoe under your belt before becoming sde3?? Idk if its a diversity hiring thing or not. Or maybe this girl was just some fake account driving impressions. But seeing a lot of folks without enough experience or skills sitting at senior roles in tech. Is it common now?

Meta laying off popular folks?
There are several threads here that people say their role was impacted and they were laid off. The latest one was Jane Wong, who is a celebrity type person and worked at IG and Threads and she posted on Threads saying she is laid off. She is famous for her security research and finding bugs and new test and hidden features in products (before joining Meta) and she was in Forbes 30 under 30 list.
