What is Sarvam AI?
Sarvam is building a 'sovereign' full-stack AI for India, featuring 'Sarvam-1' (2B parameter Indic model) and 'Sarvam Edge' for on-device, offline processing. Their suite includes Bulbul (voice), Sarvam Vision (document intelligence), and Akshar, a workbench for high-precision knowledge extraction.
You'll be a good fit if you have
- Proficiency in Python and FastAPI with hands-on experience in building scalable APIs.
- 3–7 years of experience in backend development with significant exposure to distributed systems.
- Practical experience with deploying AI models at scale and implementing RAG pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of SQL (Postgres/MySQL) and NoSQL databases, with expertise in schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures using message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Solid understanding of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry) for system monitoring and tracing.
- A commitment to best security practices in alignment with strict privacy and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain robust backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Develop fault-tolerant systems using asynchronous programming to achieve high performance.
- Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, along with data pipelines to seamlessly integrate AI/ML models into production.
- Design schemas, tune queries for Postgres and NoSQL databases, and implement caching and indexing strategies to eliminate latency bottlenecks.
- Ensure enterprise-grade reliability by establishing comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing frameworks.
- Participate in architectural discussions to resolve scaling issues, enforce coding standards through rigorous code reviews, and mentor peers on backend and generative AI best practices.
