You'll be a good fit if you have
- 4–7 years of Python engineering experience with a strong focus on machine learning and computer vision.
- Deep expertise in building production OCR systems using engines such as PaddleOCR, Tesseract, or EasyOCR.
- Proficiency in PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, and image processing libraries like OpenCV and Pillow.
- Experience fine-tuning document transformers like LayoutLM, Donut, or TrOCR.
- Strong software fundamentals including clean code practices, modular design, and testing with pytest.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end OCR pipelines for healthcare-specific documents such as CMS-1500, UB-04, and prior authorization letters.
- Implement advanced image pre-processing techniques using OpenCV for deskewing, denoising, and resolution upscaling.
- Deploy layout-aware models (e.g., LayoutLMv3, Donut) to capture spatial relationships and form structures.
- Train and fine-tune models for medical entity recognition to accurately extract CPT/ICD-10 codes, NPI numbers, and financial data.
- Experiment and refine Vision-Language Models for handling complex clinical reasoning and unstructured document queries.
- Build and integrate active learning "human-in-the-loop" systems that improve accuracy using correction feedback via DVC or MLflow.
- Develop modular, production-grade Python code with FastAPI for exposing services.
- Optimize models for real-time performance on NVIDIA GPU infrastructure using tools like TensorRT and ONNX.
- Implement robust observability practices to monitor key performance metrics such as F1 scores and Character Error Rates.
