What is Chronicle?
Chronicle is a modern presentation platform that uses 'pre-designed blocks' to automate professional information design. The tool allows teams to transform raw notes or documents into interactive, client-ready decks in under 15 minutes.
You'll be a good fit if you have
- A portfolio that demonstrates an exceptional command of visual storytelling and information hierarchy, specifically converting complex data or narratives into clean, modern presentation formats.
- 3+ years of experience focused on visual, graphic, or presentation design, with strong examples of high-quality templates, pitch decks, or visual systems.
- Expert proficiency in Figma and a deep understanding of visual principles including typography, proportion, and layout systems.
- The ability to think and operate at two levels: delivering highly polished, pixel-perfect visuals while simultaneously defining the underlying, scalable design system and visual identity of the platform.
- A strong interest in how motion and micro-interactions enhance information comprehension and a passion for creating truly usable and elegant presentation tools.
- Experience or curiosity in leveraging generative AI design tools (e.g., Midjourney) to accelerate creativity and iteration speed.
- A desire to be a foundational member of an early design team, influencing product direction, culture, and the overall standard of visual craft.
Key Responsibilities
- Build a deep understanding of Chronicle’s product, storytelling principles, and user workflows to shape the design direction of templates and visual systems.
- Lead the end-to-end design of presentation templates by balancing narrative clarity, strong information hierarchy, and modern visual aesthetics.
- Create high-quality default visuals including backgrounds, image sets, themes, and other foundational content that define Chronicle’s brand and presentation identity.
- Translate complex ideas, data, and narratives into intuitive visual structures, diagrams, and layouts.
- Partner with product design to turn new widget concepts and presentation components into elegant, well-scoped design solutions.
- Produce high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and micro-interactions to elevate usability, polish, and final craft.
- Drive the evolution and consistency of Chronicle’s design system across templates, interactions, and product surfaces.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing teams to ensure feasibility, coherence, and high-craft execution.
- Explore and integrate modern generative AI design tools to accelerate iteration, creativity, and workflow efficiency.
- Contribute to building Chronicle’s design culture through mentorship, critique, and raising the standard of visual craft across the company.
