You'll be a good fit if you have
- A strong portfolio or repository that demonstrates clear evidence of craft, design taste, and attention to detail in personal projects, internships, or open-source contributions.
- Strong foundational expertise in HTML and CSS, specifically in areas like responsive design, component-driven styling, layout, and typography.
- Practical proficiency with modern JavaScript or TypeScript and hands-on experience with a component framework, preferably React.
- A genuine passion for pixel-perfection, eager to translate complex Figma designs (including motion and micro-interactions) into resilient, high-quality code.
- A first-principles problem-solving mindset, able to deeply understand a challenge and propose simple, elegant solutions while taking end-to-end ownership of your implementation.
- A quick learner attitude, ready to pick up new tools (like XState, ProseMirror, or Yjs) and work closely with a senior mentor to grow rapidly from feature specification through production rollout.
- (Bonus) Exposure to building complex creation tools, editors, or visual canvases, or strong skills in design literacy and motion design.
Key Responsibilities
- Ship features with a mentor: Pair with a senior engineer to deliver product features from specification through production, owning well-scoped components and flows.
- Translate design into resilient UI: Implement responsive layouts, typography, motion, and micro-interactions from Figma designs with pixel-level accuracy.
- Harden quality and performance: Utilize DevTools to profile and debug applications, and add thoughtful tests for critical paths.
- Collaborate tightly with design and product: Dive deep into design challenges, consider broader impacts, and implement solutions that align with architectural standards.
- Close the loop with users: Triage UI bugs, address polish issues, and connect engineering decisions to positive user outcomes.
