- The proven ability to operate as a Staff-level technical leader—setting the long-term architectural vision for critical, high-scale backend systems (Java, Spring Boot, Microservices) without relying on formal management authority.
- A track record of designing, delivering, and optimizing reliable, scalable, and secure distributed systems on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Deep expertise in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving the most complex technical bottlenecks and systemic performance issues across an entire engineering organization.
- A multiplier mindset and significant experience in mentoring senior and principal engineers, actively raising the technical bar for design, code quality, and engineering standards.
- Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills, demonstrated by successful partnerships with Engineering Managers, Product leaders, and AI/ML teams to drive cohesive, cross-functional initiatives.
- A strong sense of accountability and ownership, thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth, Y Combinator-backed environment where innovation and continuous learning are key.
- (Bonus) Direct experience in the healthcare/clinical coding domain or working with HIPAA/security-sensitive enterprise systems.
