- The ability to serve as a strong technical guide for your team, adept at deep-diving into Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) architecture discussions and code reviews.
- Proven success in cross-functional collaboration, effectively aligning engineering efforts with the strategic goals of Product, AI/ML, and Design teams to deliver integrated, user-facing solutions.
- A deep commitment to operational excellence, including establishing robust CI/CD pipelines, observability (monitoring/logging), and security best practices for production systems.
- Experience scaling systems from initial concept (0→1) through high-growth phases, specifically in a fast-paced, startup environment where resourcefulness and ownership are key.
- (Bonus) Practical knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) or experience managing systems with stringent regulatory requirements (like HIPAA security).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team while fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Provide architectural vision and hands-on technical guidance in system design, code reviews, and performance optimization.
- Own roadmap planning, execution, and timely delivery of backend services and platform infrastructure.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, AI/ML, and design teams to ship scalable and secure solutions.
- Establish and enforce best practices in testing, CI/CD, observability, and monitoring.
- Ensure system reliability, security, and availability while balancing short-term business goals with long-term architectural evolution.
- Play an active role in hiring, developing, and retaining exceptional engineering talent.
