What is Sarvam AI?
Sarvam is building a 'sovereign' full-stack AI for India, featuring 'Sarvam-1' (2B parameter Indic model) and 'Sarvam Edge' for on-device, offline processing. Their suite includes Bulbul (voice), Sarvam Vision (document intelligence), and Akshar, a workbench for high-precision knowledge extraction.
You'll be a good fit if you have
- Expert-level proficiency with ClickHouse, including a deep understanding of its storage engine, complex aggregations, and materialized views.
- Deep hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including managing consumer groups, partition strategies, and debugging lag in high-pressure environments.
- Proven experience working in large-scale, high-traffic environments such as OTT platforms, Fintech, or high-growth AdTech.
- Strong foundations in SQL and proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
- In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, including the CAP theorem and data consistency models.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and scale our Kafka ecosystem to handle high-velocity event streams with zero data loss.
- Own the ClickHouse roadmap by designing optimized schemas, managing sharding/replication, and tuning query performance for sub-second analytics on massive datasets.
- Build a unified data platform that supports both real-time decisioning and long-term analytical storage, ensuring high availability and low latency.
- Identify bottlenecks across the data lifecycle—from ingestion to visualization—and implement low-level optimizations that reduce compute costs and improve time to insight.
- Set the standards for data quality, observability, and schema evolution while mentoring junior engineers and influencing our broader engineering culture.
