if you're sde at amazon, doesn't make sense.
Well this year is quite bad but going overall if your base is around 10 -15 as a fresher you wont need a masters focus on becoming a tech lead or something in the next 5 years keep working
Mtech from old iits is 2nd chance for ppl who have destroyed their btech exposure that mtech gives is immense interest of research else if one is interested only in placements double tick for that too do all course works get placed many ppl wouldn't know this but placements are almost same for both btech and mtech (only for cse in old iits) package can range anywhere from 20L to 1cr+ all depending on one's coding capabilities
It depends on your grad school. If it's tier 1, then I won't advise going for it. Also, unless you want to go for teaching later on, any Mtech below tier 1 doesn't add much value. PS: If you are really into research and serious about it, the only college you should consider in India is IISc. If you don't get it, go out.
Already workin in tech? Probably no then Want to switch to tech? Consider it
Imo 3 ways :
-
Get a few hot skills , hone and develop them till the point you get anywhere around 30+. No point doing MBA/MTech if you want to stay in India and never settle abroad.
-
Get a Master's degree of your choice from anywhere after decent and relevant work experience. This should help in increasing the upper cap on your CTC.
-
The option of going abroad and doing any kind of masters requires a lot of money or you might have to take loans and whatever follows in the process.
The question is what's your minimum required CTC? Do you want to shell out money for masters or continue working.
