You sacrifice your body for nothing

I earn a decent living working at a fast-paced startup. I really enjoy building things from scratch and it is always a joy working with smart people around you. I sometimes wonder if the long hours are actually worth it. At work, I spend almost 12 hours glued to my chair to meet crazy deadlines, but there hasn't been one day recently where my lower back didn't scream in pain.

The severe sciatica I developed in my late 20s makes me sad beyond belief. It is almost like I give so much of time to this company and although everyone cares about the features I ship but no one cares about my health.

Incidents like waking up with a numb leg make me want to give up on work. I started doing mandatory physiotherapy every morning and bought an ergonomic chair to fix this mess. I think the mix of giving all of myself at work(intensity and bad posture) and the time I spend away from taking care of my body makes me depressed as fuck. You think making more money will make you happier but you will just end up losing your spine.

Giving up your health for meesho is not worth.

If we are finding medicine or a cure for some disease, so we had to work long hours , is something I would accept. Atleast our death will change the life of humanity.

For meesho? Losing health for what? Few people can order clothes? The founders can drive a bigger car?:

Exactly. Building things is fun, but we aren't saving lives here. It really puts the sacrifice into perspective.

Yeah, it really feels like that sometimes. I just wish the personal cost wasn't this high.
