Wrote a paper all on my own, still gets flagged for AI generated content.

I am writing a Journal research paper and my instructor uses Turnltin for checking Plag and Al detection.

Despite writing everything on my own, I got around 33% AI content for the first time. I rewrote a few sentences which might have sounded robotic, but it had no big difference. I just got 31% Al again.

This is frustrating since I didn't even use Al for the writing part and my original work isn't even accepted now.

How are you supposed to write papers if you can't use a few basic English words? It's not my fault they're being used a lot by AI.

Write it in bad english, it will mark it as human !!

It seems to be the only way going forward. Because AI learns from humans and now humans have a problem with AI which writes like a human?

Turnitin is horrible. It gives false positives a lot of time 😢

I don't understand why do people want to flood the research papers with improper wordings and make it more difficult to read.

Totally unrelated but I remember the Pre AI era my professor used to dump everything from stackoverflow and serveroverflow and random reddits and ask me to edit it for him for his thesis submissions 🤣🤣🤣.

I wish I completed my degree in your era, because of AI I am not only not learning, I am becoming dependent on it. Basically a second hand thinker and now when I do something without it, bang on, it falls right onto my head.

For the 10003736th time, Turnitin is not a plagiarism checker, Turnitin just checks for similarity. No wonder if you write about a research topic it will have similar sentences to other papers.
Coming to AI, the whole point of llm is to produce human text, so as llm get better, the boundaries are blurred. Lot of Professors are too fucking stupid to see this. But some professors will be happy with under 35% score, or even 40%

Even if you cite Turnitin will flag, it's the duty of the evaluator to waive these, else they're a shit evaluator.

I'm glad that I finished my education before LLMs. I genuinely read papers, wrote original arguments and did the background work. I would be mad if some dumb software made by people bad at their jobs caused me to score less.

Tell ai to rephrase your doc in such a way that it can't be caught for plagiarism... Since you already did it on your own anyways.. it won't be counted as a sin..

That is absolutely not how it works.. I have written papers in the past with AI and have struggled like hell with them. Even if you feed every possible instruction to AI on how to sound the most human, it can't. It will get detected for higher AI generated content percentage.

💯 it has destroyed the peace of 100s of students. Atleast it could have had a lenient AI detection system.

Ask ChatGPT to rephrase the content in your writing style, it knows what your writing style is based on lots of chats

See if that helps you

AI detection skyrockets after that. Tried everything. I am at the verge of paying someone to remove this AI detection.
