Would TCS send onsite (2 months) if I was on notice period?
I understand that question seems ironical. The thing is, I may be resigning in few days and will start serving my notice period of 3 months. But my manager needs someone at onsite for 2 months. He doesn't know yet that I am planning to resign. No one else can go and I am the only person who can. So even after resignation, will I be still allowed to go onsite for this short term assignment?
Because a peculiar situation is that TCS won't tell customer about my resignation until usually last moment.
Totally depends on the project protocol.
NP basically means the HR and releasing team have higher authority. The final call will be dependent on the HR offboarding incharge.
If your project is influential they may provide leniency. However, short stint onsite aint worth it.
As you have highlighted you will be joining the same client its best to avoid drawing a target on your back.
The organisation will raise non compete clause or some crap. Every project and contract has such clause. Some are 2 years and some are short like 1 month. Max I have seen is 5 years. Our project is 6 months and previous project was 2 years.
So if you wanna join the client so bad best is to avoid these short stints and focus on long term gain.
Yes that is what I told the client manager too. Unless he is ok to extend the resignation by 2 more months (if he desperately wants me to be there), i cannot go during NP for sure.
if they dnt hv any option other than you they can send you reaon being no other choice plus client is usually told last week of leaving — why not ask him to show your willingness to travel if you want to travel
I don't mind the travel sir. But I have to resign anyways too. If I travel, my resignation can get pushed by 2 months. But the potential job change I have is actually with the same client so I have to check with client manager (who will later become my manager once I join them), if he is ok with me pushing resignation for 2 months.
so there is no cooling off ? like you can move to client side from tcs that too same manager n team
