World Cup Ticket Fiasco
Recently, I was listening to a podcast about this topic, and here is some stuff from it:
- Only 8000 tickets available😬
- A flag in bookmyshow source code, "enableFakeSeatBlocking" active for India matches -> Way for someone to do dummy booking!😂
- Dummy booking: saves ticket without transportation going through, someone wanted to save tickets to themselves!🤣
- Irony being we are able to reach the moon, but we don't have completely online cricket match tickets.😐

Nah the problem with BMS was that they started the queues at 19:45 and showed the book now button at 20:00. A lot of people knew about this and they went to the direct link (mostly internal employees of BMS & techies who were frustrated in their previous attempt like me). So directly opening the URL put us ahead in the queue and we got the tickets.
The critical issue which BMS missed was that book now button was not rendered for everyone at 20:00 due to high load people didn't got the booknow link and that caused big issue.
Anyways I found out about this flaw and booked as much tickets as I wanted. Cheers 🥂
