Working at 30% and its ok

I've been working for 6 years, and honestly, I've never had to give my full effort—probably not even 50%. Most of the time, people seem happy with just 30% of what I'm capable of.

There was one time I really went all in and went above and beyond, but it ended up backfiring. Since then, I haven’t felt like giving my best, especially for work that feels dull or routine.

I do have creativity and passion for my field, so I often explore ideas and push things further on my own. But when it comes time to share my work, I usually scale it back or simplify it, because that’s what people expect—or at least, what they’re comfortable with.

But don’t you feel that u r not giving 100% as you taking 100% salary. IMO u need to get paid for the amount u have done. Else u will be treated as begger who earns money without doing any work. Feel free to counter my point which can help me if it required

He/She is not saying they are working less, they are working as expected out of them and the team is happy. Just that the work that is put into is 30% of their actual capacity to deliver. There’s a difference!

I get you, dude, it's self-preservation. Giving 100% all the time is unsustainable, it just ends up burning you out—and you don't even get any rewards for that. Quite the opposite, in fact—you're then expected to consistently maintain those high standards, which is extremely difficult, if not impossible.

And honestly, it's not the end of the world if something takes a few days longer to complete when working at 30%.

If you truly wanna work more, work for yourself and build something, Else find hobbies that make you happy, work is not life and life is not work

I am also on the same page, I had given my best and more the beyond to my team but once issue is fixed or resolved now one bothers to appreciate,, so being so enthusiastic, now I am only stick to my work and other work which I get from others I don't prioritise too much until it has been followed up,, I really don't want to ignore but I know I can't be someone who is always available for everything so I just do my job and chill ,, sometimes I see the issue and the resolution too but prefer to be silent and do my work,, qki ab mujhe udta udta teer lene ka shaukh nai h

It's a great point and so happy to see you realized it, many even don't.
I was also in the kind of same boat, and truly speaking you're not expected to give 100% every singal minute. You've been at that profile and getting that salary because you're capable enough to give your 100% whenever and wherever requied.
I advise keep up doing work as per required, give your best and for remaining 70%, give your time and energy helping others, teaching and guiding back to this universe.

Just sharing my opinion, wish you a happy life buddy

Remember what Sheldon's mom told him - it is ok to be smart, but don't keep on going to prove it to others. Universal it is.

Wow. So many misunderstanding the author. Guys what the author is saying is he/she can get the job done with 30% efforts. Maybe that's how much Mr. karela deserves.
