Working as remote contractor

I have 2.3 years of FTE experience in indian service based working as a devops engineer. I have put my papers and gave heads up to the client that i'm resigning. Now they want to hire me through a 3rd party contractor. I want to know whether contract experience is counted as valid experience in india?
