Trending @Wipro; Work outside base location
I had to travel to a different country for a personal reason, is it allowed to work from that country. Will Wipro find out that I am working from another country?? What would be the consequence of this??
The VPN can easily track the host country. I suggest you to take leaves before leaving India
Another thing to consider is tax status. If you will be working greater then 6 months, you will have to pay taxes in destination country.
Most of the projects, system will be blocking by Geo Fencing, you cannot use the laptop.
Very risky. Depends how long you will be there... few days maybe ok to take risk. In general it is illegal to work from another country without a work permit (doesn't matter where your salary is paid). This is the country's rule.
Coming to Wipro, they can easily find out where you are located if they want to. There are many websites itself that can detect which country you are coming from. Also incase there is some problem with your laptop, how will you get it fixed? Wipro can also get into trouble for having their employee work in a country where they don't have the right visa to work from.
