why do companies do DEI hiring anyway? Not against it, but want to know if they get any tax benefit etc.

While at one point, male:female ratios were looked at in Microsoft, it never was a major factor in hiring for us. If they did not select, it was most probably because the interview did not go well. Do try again though. All the best!
