Will Product Management jobs shift to India?

Big tech and other cos are shifting core engineering roles to their Indian Offices or their COE/IDCs housed in India, as Engineering is now being looked as a Cost Center & not a pure play innovation center.

In similar lines, do you think that Product Management roles will also follow suit? If yes, why? If no, why?

It's already happening. GCCs are being set up in India and a lot of PM roles from companies in US have opened up.

PM jobs will go away too. Those who can't code, can't design, can't analyse data have no place in tech post ZIRP era and you'll see them reduce in numbers soon. First in high growth startups, then everywhere.

How much of coding is necessary for product analyst or data analyst and what is the tech stack to focus on ?

Inbound would mostly be India based, outbound will stay in the market that customers live in

It just may shift to India due to low cost of labor. But the product talent in India has become dull and robotic. They consume the same prep materials from the same bhaiyas and PM 'cohorts', and have the same approach to solving problems. I have always felt that PMs need to be serendipitous and I feel that the PM ecosystem in India doesn't allow that.

It's already shifting. Also, Engineering is definitely NOT cost center for tech firms
