Why would you order Biryani & Chinese from same place?!

Food app consumers being so nonchalant is just disrespectful

P.S. I am very sensitive about food

I have started to trust Swiggy ratings now & they land mostly. This was the behaviour till sometime ago but not anywhere. Especially given that Swiggy too has now dish level data.

But it does have pictures and written reviews. Those help really

But aren’t those only at the restaurant level?

Nah it makes complete sense for a restaurant to offer Chinese and briyani in India. Multi-cuisine is literally crucial for most restaurants to be making money in India Going out to eat with family means restaurants need to cater to the kids, the grandmoms and the adults. Briyani would fetch you the adults but Chinese would fetch you the kids.

Check out the Nikhil Kamath podcast on restaurants, there is a portion in it where multi-cuisine is highlighted.

Think beyond the single cuisine restaurants in tier 1 cities, think tier 2 and tier 3 where restaurants must throw whatever the can to hope something sticks on the wall

@OpenWaffle I don't have a problem with that, but to expect great Biryani and great Chinese from same place (which is not even top notch restaurant) is just stupid.

To actually do good in multi-cuisine restaurants, the setup needs as many chefs, one would not be able to handle all
