Why won't Swiggy / Zomato enter the pharma retail category ?

Pharma is a huge industry, quick commerce serves as a perfect need for consumers. I'll love to hear the expert opinion on warehousing, inventory turnaround, frequency of purchases

@UndrSun Pharma isn't same as basic medicines. OTC is still available on 1mg, pharmeasy, but for complex drugs they have to put additional checks of prescriptions. Also, prescriptions in India can be faked too, another point of check

Plus there are barriers on govt end to sell medicines

Medicine is not something which someone wants to order and expects to get it delivered within minutes after paying a certain delivery fee.

People need to be sure the meds are not fake and they love to hear in person that it makes sense. We run a medical shop and hence this is from experience.

They do not need human assurance for non critical stuff but not the same everywhere

Heard from someone that Zepto will begin delivering medicines. Is this true? How are they doing it? Will they be typing up with a Pharmeasy type company or will they get their own medicine delivery license from the government?
