Why treat people as Criminals when they are on bench?

Even criminals are asked to sign or report to station one time. But when you are in Bench waiting for a project allocation, you are asked to report twice at specific time between 10:00am to 11:30am and in the evening between 4:00pm to 5:00pm every day.

Once you go there you have to report to RMG SPOC and confirm your visit to the Bay which is full of Criminals (for not having project allocation) and you enquire if there is any project Sultan willing to take you! Something similar to daily wages construction people asking contractor to take them for work for that day!

If there is no one to take you, then waste your precious time there sitting whole day and browsing through mobile (with your mobile data) and keep praying for some Sultan to hire you.

Dear TCS HR, Don’t you have any respect towards TIME of people, why they have to spend entire day in that bay when they are not allocated to a project?

Call them once you fix drive, at this era even on MS teams or phone call itself they can interview for a project and proceed with allocation.

Time waste in getting ready 1hr, commute 3hr (to and fro), sitting on bench waiting for Sultan to arrive 4hr.

Allow them to utilise that time for better purpose instead of treating them as criminals..

Be better HUMAN RELATIONS (HR) instead of becoming PC (Police…)

POV : Other side of the coin.

HRs & RMGs are forced to take such measures because few "smarty pants" are used to find loopholes in everything & every process. For not letting anyone do such things again, such policies are implemented, and others suffer because of them.

And believe me, these activities are a humongous headache for those HRs.

You have to handle only 1 of them, & they handle 100s of you.

SPOCs don't give a flying fcuk to Benched, let alone want them to suffer. It's the upper level "managers" who like it.

Are they providing proper facilities (net connection & space) to upgrade skills in the Bay? What are these members supposed to do from 10:30 to 5:00 in that room. We can see people from freshers to 25 years of experienced members waiting in the room.

This has always been a concern to TCS admin & Infra team. But, they don't even bother to give seats to allocated guys. Why do you think they would provide to benched?

In the way they are helping talent to go out and find better place and only freshers or under skilled or ppl who are afraid to take risk will stay back

Bench life can feel frustrating, I get it. Hopefully, TCS will streamline this process soon for everyone's benefit

Agree, Even HR should start following Agile methodology with backlogs ready for allocation and it should be assigned a month before end of current project allocation.
