Trending @Cognizant; Why this 9 hours for 3 days / week policy?
I don't understand why are they asking us to come to office for 3 days / week and maintain 9 hours when they haven't assigned us any work. Is this a new way to make us resign or it is really needed to come to office? What is going on in CTS? Can anyone please explain?

Yes it's a way to make employees so frustrated that they resign on their own. Cognizant is anything but employee friendly. This is really messed up.
But there are no openings for freshers (1-2 yrs experience)in other organisation right now. 🥺 If they'll ask to resign where will we go.

See that's a wrong way to see things in IT. If you are not getting calls you need to upskill be in niche skills which have huge demand. You should be your Skill Secure not Job Secure..a company may come and go but your skill stays with you and you have to make sure you are relevant in IT. Market is a little slow but with right skillset you can find job.

They just do not want you to grow further. But employees going office will definitely make their image great in the market
What's in it for them if I don't grow further? If I grow further it's their profit, they will be having a skillful resource.

They do not care if you are growing further or not. It just does not matter in cognizant of you being skilfull resource. Eg : they can have someone to replace you in less salary than you, or they can remove you and burden your other colleagues with amount of work in that much salary. All this helps them in profit margin. They do not have projects. Clients they have, do not want to pay extra. And simultaneously they overhire every quarter. And feel proud of that. Then spoil the career of employees like us.

Are they checking time also for how long we have been in office? Cant we apply for topup for some hours. Lets say 6 hours of login+4 hrs of topup
The project manager approves the top up hours. And then he'll know it. So yeah they check the number of hours we're in office. I've heard eventually they are going to ask everyone to come to office for 9 hrs and 5 days / week.
