Why swapping ID card after 12am is not counting?

I tried swapping my card after 12 a.m., but it shows “No Show.” What I thought was: if I swap in and out at 11:55 p.m. and wait outside for 10 minutes until the day changes, then swap in and out again after 12 a.m., it would count. I did the same at 11:55 p.m. to complete the 9-hour window, but it’s still not counting anything after 12 am. Help me in it.
