Why people don't leave TCS ?

Saw lot of post and comment that people didn't get any hike from many years.

1-2 year is understandble but people from last 3-4 year also didn't get decent hike. Even if people are not getting hike in covid peak, what to expect now.

Why you guys are staying here? Because hike is biggest think to look in job

Managers are keeping them busy. They feel they are not technically competent enough to switch. They assume tcs is a manageable place with the skill they have.

Every person i speak to feels that they didnt learn enough in the projects to switch. That fear of "will we manage if we leave this company"

Same thing happening with me, after joining tcs I have lost all my development skills due to which I also fear little, apart from that 90 days notice period is the biggest obstacle no company wants to wait this much, so no interview calls getting scheduled apart from that current market scenario if in case don't get any job or gets job very late in both the cases since I m only earner how to feed family. Anyhow I have started working on skills by making personal projects hope I get even a single chance to go from here. Feeling completely stuck here.

Simple. I was lazy and in my comfort zone since 4 years. I started out pretty decently in terms of pay and my salary has grown by just 23% in the last 4 years.
I did what the client wanted me to do and lived in this comfort zone for a very long time (4 fucking years). Now I want to make a switch but seeing the market conditions and my skills level, I sometimes feel grateful for having a job.

I’m upskilling, working on my profile will start applying for jobs once I’m ready. I received a tight slap on my face by life after seeing how badly I’m doing in my career. I failed to work on my skills and in turn, I’m failing in terms of career. I’m 2-3 years behind in my career. My peers who graduated with me are now senior, leads and even managers where as I don’t have the confidence, skills and the capabilities to become a senior in my domain. It’s either grind and sacrifice now or suffer later. Both are tough but would choose the former. I feel I’ve screwed up my career by being in TCS for a very long time. I may be grateful to have a job but I just can’t wait to leave this senior citizen’s gang ASAP

Hey @Pixel_Pusher let it be, just believe in yourself don’t compare yourself with others 😊

Easier said than done man. Every fucking person out there says to work their ass off in the initial 4-5 years in their career. I do fucking regret not going so. I had a decent start in my career. But having a slump now. I turned 30 recently and I feel I’ll be stuck in a rut forever. 22 year olds sometimes do better with than me. Of course, I have more experience than them. It sometimes hits you so badly to know how much I’m missing in my life due to my own laziness. When I look at young folks who work in startup’s and look so smart, skilled, articulate and passionate, I sometimes wonder how much time and effort it will take me to even be 50% of them.

Argh…. FML

Gajab maheshmati ki yaad aa gayi.. bahubali toh hai hi apna tcs.. charity n society welfare and working for India is their priority. Please also consider how much they are giving back to country. And remember they also provide employment to so many differently abled people.

So in a way i suffered due to lack of income but still i appreciate tcs for their contribution to India

  1. Job security when comper to other service based company in India.
  2. Onsite opportunity
  3. If you notice tcs top-level management guys worked more 20+ year. So it means they are give priority to interal rather lateral entries.
  4. Retirement age 60.
  5. Finally it's government job.😀👍

People need to get interviews for that. Are people getting interviews? I am not hearing back from recruiters tbh.

Try keeping you are serving notice period for the calls to come. I tried it in Naukri and am getting some calls. But in LinkedIn, if you have connections with your tcs colleagues or managers they might know if you keep you are serving notice period.

Market is at low now. From April after the appraisal band is out, associates should move out for a better offer.
