Trending @Infosys; Why people don't leave Infosys ?
Saw lot of post and comment that people didn't get any hike from many years.
1-2 year is understandble but people from last 3-4 year also didn't get decent hike. Even if people are not getting hike in covid peak, what to expect now.
Why you guys are staying here? Because hike is biggest think to look in job

Maybe because they're not able to spend enough time learning to switch? 🤔

Some people get very comfortable and complacent. I repeat, 'SOME'.

The people who are in projects, they have to complete client side certifications, infy side certifications, keep good rapport with their team and with this do all the work which comes under there name and the things that don't come in there name also.Even after all of this still the higher people don't appreciate your work and ask to do more in return there is no hike so it's a fair thing I think. This takes up the huge part of our day. Ex: I am a jl2 working 10+ hours a day, not only me but my whole team is working like this as the onsite is useless. So in this situation when you don't have time to scroll even Instagram, how does a person skill up and switch?.
Some days the pressure is so much that headaches get common among team members and the work increases day by day. Feels like we are in 1990's the tech is so out-dated. There's no time to spend for family no time to study no time to do anything of personal interest.
And for a happy ending we also on weekends and holidays, although we get comp offs. Comp offs are the only good part.

Why are you working overtime including weekends and holidays. Is it worth your salary ? Are you getting extra payment for that ?
Unless you learn to say "NO" and take a stand for yourself to create a work life balance , nobody will care and you will continue working like a donkey.

Mostly comfort. The best person in Infy at 3-8 years experience is an average person outside. The longer you stay, you can switch at the top of the pyramid and make your money in later stages of life when your peers from other companies would have saturated.
Ex: Join as a SE here at 3LPA, stay for 18-19 years, you can very easily become a SPM or a GPM. The roles you will switch to is Associate Director / General Manager / AVP. Plus, if you have a good clientele and client relationship, you can just switch sides at time if you want to be an IC.
After a while, if your performing decently, you’ll get ESOPs. As you get promotions, you can negotiate for higher ESOPs which is a tax saving retirement fund. This is applicable only for folks who have continuous career with Infy for 6-7 years and are performing well. If you’re exceptional, you can get this at 4-5 YoE also, but the sum is very small.
