Trending @Cognizant; Why is it so tough to switch jobs?
So I've been with Cognizant for about 3.9 yrs now. Used to love it, they upheld their offer during covid while other firms revoked theirs, due to the market trends. But I feel that loyalty is showing thin now. I'm in a good project and I am doing some pretty good work, getting praised by the PM, project leadership & clients but at the same time i feel like I'm running on fumes. The kind of shit I've been doing from my project and the kind of money I'm getting is miles apart. I'm far from the industry average and it just kills me. My HCM is an airhead, doesn't know what he can do as a manager, but just comes to me whenever his managers give him some soft KPIs, like the RTO one, for which I've strongly given the bird in a quite professional way. But the discontent started in '23 when I got promoted, due to the penny "hike" that was given and now this stupid aug delay. I've been searching the job market for a switch since the past 6 months, and it's draining. I've downloaded almost all the job apps, and spend almost 2 hours on them daily. I'm spending more time on these than social media. I'm trying to stay positive that something is on the horizon, and I feel I'm just wasting my time in this shithole and need to get out as quickly as possible but don't know how. What're your thoughts on the job market and how're you traversing it to find better opportunities?

Everybody is feeling same in cognizant.

Even I am equally traveling in the same boat. I have never worked for such a useless project where i have nothing to learn ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ and above everything that's a worse management ever. Too much toxic environment.

I hope you're not on the Amazon project, because that project was made by lucifer

I was laid off from Cognizant last month.
I am searching for a job since March. But yet not even a single interview is scheduled. Currently I don't have a job. I was working as a React developer in my last project. I upskilled myself to be a full stack developer in the MERN stack. But not getting any calls.

Market is indeed slow but I can say if you are not able to find an opportunity then it's time to add some new skills which are niche which can help you with the next job.
