Why is Chennai not a preferred job location?
I have recently moved to Chennai and feel that city is very underrated. It has much better infrastructure as compared to other major cities. Also, lesser traffic. Language issue is much overhyped.

A+ city.
As a North indian, I loved chennai. ECR road is world class infrastructure

How long did you stay in Chennai? Why did you move out?

I lived for 6 months, for an internship. Also college was nearby so, it was always the first city.
I am from delhi, going to Chennai was one of the best choices I made.
I also learnt basic tamil, which is also a great experience and it just makes native people like you 100x more

I kind of like Chennai for everything except for it's hot climate. That applies to my hometown, and summer time of Bangalore as well

For most part of the year from August to Feb, climate is better than Delhi/Mumbai.

I had been to UP and Delhi, and those were the worst days of my life 😂
Mumbai - I haven't been there except inside the airport, but I would avoid Mumbai as well.

-Horrible weather. -Local shop keepers dont even understand basic maths in English . -Limited scope of pan-indian cuisines as compared to Bangalore, Hyderabad,Delhi and Mumbai .
- Movie theatres are Tamil industry focused

As a North Indian, I can say that the food is shit there, the weather is shit, language barrier is huge, cost of living is too damn high given the quality you can get with the same money in let say noida, and I have faced blatant discrimination there, so , definitely a shit place

Have you even lived in Chennai?

10 months , work in L&T there

The weather makes me want to die
Lack of tech opportunities and bad weather is what makes Chennai go down among the other cities.
Infrastructure sure is much better than most metros with lesser traffic. The language issue is actually overhyped. You can literally speak English and survive in Chennai since that's more like the second language for almost everyone there. Where it can get nasty is when you force Hindi on them. This issue is quite similar to Bangalore though.

Spot on.

Maybe food

Quality of vegetables is much much better compared to Mumbai and Bangalore. So, if you can cook your own, you would really love it. Agree on the part that city has fewer north indian restaurants.

Terrible heat man. Just terrible. The city itself is nice but personally i just can't bear the heat

What other cities have you lived in?

Mumbai (not so great climate) but absolutely amazing people. Mad expensive rents Bangalore. Great weather. That's it. It's an overrated city Udaipur. Loved it Mangalore. Absolutely in love with this place Delhi. Not going back again ever again
