Why Indians or Indian managers see preferring wlb as a big taboo

I wanted to ask, how much weight is really there, in the arguments that people make about "grinding for your own good", especially this advice is given a lot to people who are starting their careers.

I've seen multiple posts on reddit, Blind, fishbowl and here where when a person with less YOE, if confused between onsite and wfh, almost always everyone will say to choose onsite as "WFH is bad when you're just starting out". What's this infatuation with grinding day and night, giving advice like this, are these pieces of advice coming from only a certain section of employees from certain types of companies?

Each one of us who thinks and acts like this has made the Indian workplace cu-throat, toxic, compared to foreign counterparts, it's a vicious cycle.
