I just want to be debt-free, and feel like I can take a holiday once in a while, without worrying too much about how it could cripple me financially.

No tall ambitions, just want to have a happy life where money is not something I worry about on an ongoing basis.

This. My family has a debt of around 1.5cr, and no one but me to rely on. This is the sole reason why I’m thinking of earning a lot of money.

My mom recounts this story whenever she talks about me or my brother in front of her friends/colleagues; There used to be a time that we were knee deep in loans which wasn't a good situation to be in. There was an old person who used to have a ठेला (stall) on the way home who used to sell small biscuits, tobacco etc. One day when picking him up from school, he asked for a ₹5 Parle G biscuit. At that time, I had to think twice before even buying that ₹5 biscuit. Not sure if she bought the biscuit or not, but I'd like to become rich enough to make my mom feel like I would never need to face such a situation, ever.

Do you feel lesser need to hustle after making a decent amount of money?

I did not grow up in a lot of money. I ordered looking at the prices on the menu. This feeling has stayed with me and has fueled me to thrive, push harder, work long hours and get to my goals.

I'm 5 years into my career, and last year...

Do you know what you are earning for ?

What are you earning for ? Is it concrete or something vague that one day you will need this amount or something? Is it more than you or your family needs?

Or are you just a sheep like me ?

Software engineering job is highly overrated. Prove me wrong if you can.

  1. You are building a software that otherwise could be built by a 12 year old kid, if given proper training.
  2. You cannot code if I cut off google, stackoverflow & related websites.
  3. You are just concerned about producing the output q...
