why do we love feeling bad from movies and news

Just wondering why we enjoy feeling bad emotions from movies or news? It's like, we know it'll make us sad or angry, but we still watch or read it. Maybe it's because we love the emotional rollercoaster, or we just want to connect with what’s happening around us. Any Idea, feeling super bored on a Saturday afternoon :/
