Why do they require Adhar Card and Pan card number

Hello,

Being open in th market caurrently and finding job since quite a while (unemployed since last 3 Months).

I came across a companies job post, on the job portal where they were asking.

PAN card and ADHAR card details.

Why is it required ? nowadays job portals feel more of getting data and selling it rather than getting a Job.
