Why do CTC posts get loads of traction?

CTC posts usually blow up on Grapevine and everyone is super interested in putting out their salary and knowing who earns how much. Whereas I do see some very meaningful threads/discussions which die out in a day or two.

But who am I to say, CTC post pe comment toh maine bhi kiya hai
